Planning a cross-Canada road trip? From Fredericton, New Brunswick to Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories (and back) the coffee shops you won’t want to miss…and not one of them a Tim Horton’s. **Apologies to the Tim’s fans
Every good road trip begins with coffee. Especially a 5-week living-in-a-van kind of road trip. Especially if that road trip is going to take you north of the Arctic Circle. Especially if you are going to get married while you’re there.
You definitely need coffee.

Coffee shop reviews by Nola Noreen!
Savory Eats & Social Purpose
It’s a beautiful morning, the last Friday in June, 2025 and we are about to embark on a 5-week road trip in Vinny VAN Go, our Dodge Caravan that’s been converted for camping. We’re heading to Inuvik, NT to get married!
I will admit it. We hit 2 coffee shops before we even left town. For better or worse (pun intended), we prioritize coffee that much in our lives.
Our first coffee stop was The Landing so Sweetie could have one of their sticky buns (that he is mildly addicted to) and that generally sets the standard for all other sticky buns in his life. I’ve reviewed the landing in the past, so I’ll let you read up on that one here: The Landing Fredericton (Coffee Shop Review) – Nola Noreen!
I wanted something a little more savory to eat so we also swung by Neighbourly Coffee, a social enterprise coffee cafe linked to 12 Neighbours (a tiny house housing solution helping to end homelessness). I grabbed a coffee & quiche.
The cafe is in a large and modern building. It is bright and airy and I have often visited to find fresh flowers on every table. True to their name, they have a very welcoming vibe and you immediately feel like a neighour.
They are known for their sourdough bread, fresh ingredients, and interesting menu.
You can rent a meeting room, grab some merch, or just hang out.

Can anyone help me figure out their logo? Cute, but also confusing! 🙂
