French Delights

My Sweetie’s is from the Eastern Townships in the province of Quebec.  This little cafe was a regular stop for us on our way to visit family long before we struck out on our cross-Canada road trip.  We were in for a surprise, however!

We arrived at the shop to find it all closed up.  They had moved to a new location!  Just a few doors over we found a larger and much more modern cafe.

I’m not going to lie…we haven’t quite adjusted to the new look.  The old spot had a lot of charm.  I think the new location will grow on us.  It’s multi-level with a variety of seating from comfy chairs, to tables, to a window bar (where we choose to sit).

This coffee shop sells a variety of their own blends of coffee as well as loose leaf teas.  They have a lovely menu with treats, a limited but delicious selection of sandwiches, and their soups are to die for!

Whenever possible, we try to time it so that the cafe is our lunch stop-over.  On this trip, however, we overnighted in Vinny Van Go by the Saint Lawrence river  at the base of the hill in La Pocatière and visited the cafe first thing before we hit the road for Ontario.

Heads up…this cafe is french-speaking, but coffee has it’s own universal language and all you have to do is point at the treat you want!
