About Nola Noreen!
I am a life-long learner who likes to explore opportunities, and live simply.

Welcome
In 2021, about 6 months into my 50th trip around the sun and in the midst of the COVID-19 world pandemic, I decided to take a job as administrator of a nursing home. A bold choice, perhaps, given the times we’re living in, the challenges long-term care facilities across Canada face, and the fact that I am a Chartered Professional Accountant with no nursing background .
It was the best choice I ever made. Caring for seniors is meaningful work. My Sweetie says I leave for work happy every day and return even happier.
A choice like this was not atypical for me. I believe that a carefully curated life is a happy life.
In a span of 15 days I gave notice at my job, worked my last two weeks, did a weekend house hunting trip, signed a lease in a new city, packed up everything I owned and moved. On the 16th day I started my new role and a new adventure.
The reason I could do this was because I have an extremely simple lifestyle. Simple living has allowed me to have many adventures in life.
This blog promotes simple living as a way to get clarity on your life purpose and grow as a person.
It blog is about knowing your purpose in life and, from that, curating a life you love. Sorting and sifting through life to eliminate what doesn’t serve you, and to embrace everything that does. Even when it feels a little uncomfortable or out-of-step with the rest of the world.
This blog is for me, but I am happy to share it with you.
